Dance Classes for Schools

What to expect

Lots of creativity alongside improvements in balance, co-ordination and general fitness.  A chance for children to express their individuality through movement, seeing all children excel and grow in confidence, especially those who may find a normal classroom situation challenging.  Children will be taught movement sequences but will also be guided to create and refine their own movements both individually and in groups.  There will be an opportunity to show the work created to their peers and offer constructive feedback too.

Sessions can be planned to fit the curriculum or bespoke to cover a topic that you are working on.  It is completely up to you. A few themes often taught are – my body, space, the jungle, patterns and shapes, forces-push and pull and Year 6 leaver’s projects.

Classes offered

A one hour, half day or full day contemporary/creative dance session, this could be for one class or several over the day. A weekly, fortnightly, monthly session or just a one-off class, it’s up to you.

Testimonial

“In my role as deputy head and head teacher, I have had the pleasure of working with Helen for many years in the primary school environment.

She is a true inspiration for children and has delivered successful creative dance and movement workshops within my schools. Helen communicates brilliantly, planning carefully for all children under her guidance. Helen’s enthusiastic and determined approach, results in each individual child achieving their very best.

This achievement, alongside the very positive feedback from staff, pupils and parents, mean Helen is a highly recommended Primary Dance and Movement teacher.”
